What exactly is project management?

Project management refers to the individual phases of "initiating", "controlling", "monitoring" and "completing", which are ideally carried out as part of project implementation. The project participants take on specific roles for the duration of the project, each with the associated powers and obligations. The central role is assumed by the project manager, who is responsible for project management.

Formal project management is often required for small and medium-sized projects. For larger projects, disciplined and organized project management is typically essential. Project management has a decisive influence on whether a project is carried out successfully or fails. Professional and forward-looking project management is a critical success factor.
