What is browser compatibility?

Browser compatibility refers to the ability of selected web browsers to process or display the content of a website exactly as intended by its developers. Today's discussion about browser compatibility has its origins in the early 1990s. At that time, web browsers were created that in some cases only followed rudimentary technical standards.

Even current web browsers differ in details with regard to their ability to interpret HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Even today, it is often necessary to pay attention to browser compatibility when developing websites. To achieve browser compatibility, a strict approach is taken to use only those options that are understood in the same way by all relevant web browsers.

There are several approaches and solutions available to test the uniform display of websites in different web browsers.
