What does deployment mean?

Deployment (software distribution) refers to the semi-automated or fully automated processes for installing and configuring software on PCs and servers, typically in companies. The aim of a deployment strategy is to make aspects of IT management in companies more efficient. Companies use special software solutions and often self-developed deployment scripts to implement deployment in a practical way.

A key advantage of forward-looking deployment strategies is a standardized software environment. If you define your deployment strategies broadly enough, they can also be updated automatically and thus implement parts of the IT security guidelines just as efficiently.
