What is a keyword?

In the context of SEO (search engine optimization), a keyword is a search term or search phrase that search engine users use to find information on the Internet. Keywords play a central role in search engine marketing. The central task of search engine optimizers is, as a first step, to identify the keywords relevant to the offers of a website.

Selected websites are then optimized in such a way that the respective keyword appears frequently enough and in the most advantageous places in the HTML code of the respective website. This is the necessary prerequisite for the individual web pages to be filed under the respective keyword in the search engine index and to be found by search engine users. However, you should not be tempted to over-optimize. Instead, write a good text that deals with the keyword, but above all offers visitors added value.

Search engine optimization based on keywords obviously only works in conjunction with search engines that are based on automatic indexing, as is the case with Google and Bing, for example.
