Definition: Similar to Google Search, Bing is an Internet search engine from Microsoft, which is the successor to Live Search from the same company. Like some alternative search engines, Bing offers the option of displaying search results in the categories images, videos, news and maps.

In addition to its own Bing database, Bing also uses content from companies strategically linked to Microsoft. Bing was the third most visited search engine in 2010. Search engine optimization(SEO) can also be implemented with regard to Bing.

Bing was launched online on June 1, 2009. Microsoft's aim is to offer its own services on the basis of Bing and to attack the market leader Google. On July 29, 2009, Microsoft made a cooperation with Yahoo public.
