What is Contao?

Contao is a free content management system based on PHP, formerly known as TYPOlight. Contao can be used to create medium-sized to large websites and conveniently maintain their content. In addition to numerous other features, Contao impresses with barrier-free (X)HTML output and a cross-browser CSS framework. Contao can be freely downloaded from the web and used free of charge for private and commercial projects.

The functionality of Contao can be expanded with a variety of extensions. The live update function can be used to conveniently update Contao, provided that the required paid module is installed.
